July 3, 2014: Recruitment consultancy Page Personnel, part of PageGroup, announced the winner of its Executive Assistant (EA) of the Year 2014 competition last night at an award ceremony attended by competition finalists, their managers as well as campaign sponsors and judges. Aimed at recognising the efforts of exceptional Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants and Secretaries; the competition was won by Ms. Stephanie Leong of JAS Worldwide Asia.

In addition to the distinction of being recognised as Singapore’s best EA, Ms. Leong has won a pair of return tickets to London, four nights of luxury accommodation, a 1.5 hour personal photography session and three outfits worth up to S$100. She has also received a one year subscription to Women’s Weekly Singapore, a one year membership to Singapore Association of Administrative Professionals, as well as a personalised one-on-one career development session with a Page Personnel consultant. Additionally, she has won for her company an online advertising package courtesy of PageGroup.

Ms. Leong’s role as PA to Executive Vice President of JAS Worldwide Asia Pte Ltd sees her managing her manager’s schedule, handling travel arrangements, prioritising mail, as well as providing overall support for her manager’s daily workflow. In addition, Ms. Leong single-handedly manages all administration matters for JAS Worldwide Asia in her double portfolio as Administration Manager. She approaches both roles with dedication and tenacity, traits that have enabled her to excel while clearly impressing her bosses and colleagues alike.

Mr. Antoine Lamy, Director of Page Personnel Singapore noted that while the judges of this year’s competition faced a difficult task choosing a winner, Ms. Leong’s strong performance in her dual role as well as the excellent feedback from her manager placed her in good stead to emerge the winner.

The judging panel was made up of:

  • Rohit Zutshi – Chief Operating Officer at Gazprom;
  • Pam Lai – Vice President at Lombard Odier;
  • Esther Teh – General Manager at Oroton;
  • Dorothy Tan – Global Admin Manager at IBM;
  • Peter Huber – Chief Executive Officer at Zurich Insurance; and
  • Ivy Lim Wai Mun – Executive Assistant to APAC Carlson Hotels President.

“From an early stage in the judging process, Stephanie’s submission stood out among the rest and was a strong contender against other applicants,” said Mr. Lamy. “The judges had a hard time deliberating on all the finalists’ achievements and performances but ultimately decided to award Stephanie for her exceptional attitude and ability at work.”

Ms. Leong has been an executive for 20 years and constantly looks forward to the challenges that her job brings her each day. On winning the award, she said the Page Personnel Singapore EA of the Year 2014 accolade was a tremendous recognition of her work, with the competition providing her and her peers a fantastic platform to be recognised for their efforts at work.

“I am extremely delighted at winning the title of Page Personnel Singapore EA of the Year 2014.This award serves as testament to the dedication and commitment that EAs such as myself put in at work. While winning feels great, it is ultimately my bosses’ recognition and validation that means more to me and my career in the long run. I would also like to share this award with my fellow finalists whom I am sure have put in no less than me at work,” Ms. Leong said.

Affirming her win, Mr. Christian Nebel, Ms. Leong’s manager commented; “When it comes to dedication, Stephanie has outdone herself. Her relentless pursuit of perfection and attention to detail, matched with a touch of sensitivity as well as pro-activeness, has served me and the company well on countless occasions. I am extremely proud and pleased that Stephanie has won the competition and received the recognition she deserves.”

Also recognised at the award ceremony was Ms. Angeline Khoo of Microsoft Operations Pte Ltd, who received the Page Personnel EA of the Year 2014 runner up title. Ms. Khoo won a night’s stay at the W Hotel Singapore and a 45 minute personal photography session, along with other prizes.

Wrapping up the Page Personnel Singapore EA of the Year competition for another year, Mr. Lamy said; “We are proud to provide a platform that recognises the efforts and dedication of all Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants and Secretaries in Singapore.
