I was interested in the idea of international opportunities within PageGroup so I started applying for a transfer. I did put up my hand for Indonesia so when the news came that the business was being launched in Jakarta I applied and got the job. I relocated to Jakarta as part of the management team that launched the Indonesia business. I have meanwhile learned a lot about the Indonesian culture, a new language and how to adapt in all sorts of situations – personally and professionally. It has taken me out of my comfort zone and I have fully enjoyed it.
Michael Page Indonesia has booked YOY growth, both in headcounts as revenue, we made profit in our first year and had record years since. We currently have approx.  50 headcounts, we have promoted our first two Indonesian Associate Directors and built up a strong Indonesian management team. The last four years have been worth the move. It has opened my mind and my eyes further and given me space to explore and develop.
I am ready for the next challenge, launching our business in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
